Women of Means

I meant what I said on Sunday. We're women of means. Luke 8:1-3 talks about how Jesus and his disciples were supported by women of means. They were wealthy and they were giving. We may not be rich materially but we've got what it takes. He gives it to us.

"His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness." 2 Peter 1:3

We're not wimps. We're not fake or superficial. We're the real deal. We are victorious, Girls!

"What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us." Romans 8:31, 37

He's promised that.

"He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life. Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children." Revelation 21:6-7

So get to memorizing! Get to studying! Get to loving! Get to praising Him and what He's done for you! He will give you the means necessary. Call on Jesus and His Holy Name and He will supply you with what you need.

You know how we talked on Sunday about the Word of God being seed in Luke 8. Well, I found this awesome verse to help you memorize Scripture.

"Now he [God] who supplies seed [the Word] to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness." 2 Corinthians 9:10

How cool is that? God promises that He will increase your store of seed. He'll increase the Word that you've got stored in your heart and as a result, He'll enlarge your havest of righteousness. That means that He'll help you live the life that He desires for you. We've got the ultimate Tutor! Take it, Girls.

And to encourage you in your small victory of memorizing Psalm 119:10-11, here's a little one from my household this week-

Do you see that bow? That was still in when I picked her up from nursery! I know that you may not appreciate this victory but have you ever tried to paint a cat's toenails? Trying to get Esther Grace to keep a bow in her hair is about 100 times harder than that! Ha! I won. And I'm going to keep being persistant in my battle. Think that's silly? Not to my God. And you're little daily battles aren't silly to Him either. He made you. He cares deeply for you. Take the time to call on Him. He's waiting to fight for you. Let Him. But you've got to take up your sword for the battle....

"Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God."
Ephesians 6:17
"For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart." Hebrews 4:12

His Word is your only weapon. Read it. Know it. Apply it. Use it.
